Bahir Dar

This was my last stop in Ethiopia, the beautiful town Bahir Dar by the lake Tana.

I stayed in Bahir Dar with couchsurfer Mengistu, whose family made me feel very welcomed during my stay with them. Mengistu is also a great artist.

Bahir Dar lays by lake Tana, and people go swimming, sailing and walking by the lake every day because the weather is usually warm. The city is also quite pretty, like most Ethiopian cities the streets are well organized and have a lot of green.

The most famous highlight of Bahir Dar are the Blue Nile Falls just a few kilometers off the city in the Blue Nile. Their name in Amharic is Tis Abay. When I visited them it was still dry season so there wasn’t too much water.

After enjoying Bahir Dar for a few days I went back to Addis Ababa passing by Debra Marcos in the way.

I spent two days in Addis Ababa to farewell some friends and then flew to Egypt. Goodbye Ethiopia, thanks for the amazing places.
